Responsibilities: Take accountability for all electrical, electronic, and process control work, both planned and breakdowns, on the plant Provide first-line maintenance and breakdown rectification resource, ensuring safe and effective problem-solving Manage electrical engineering activities on shift, adhering to health, safety, and environmental requirements Carry out electrical installation work in accordance with BS7671 Wiring Regulations Assist with planning shift activities that require specific expertise Support continuous improvement activities when necessary Provide relevant information and reports on plant breakdowns to aid in analysis and prevention Ensure accurate recording of engineering issues within the system Collaborate with the team on mechanical systems and provide support when needed Lead, coach, and develop other employees, particularly Electrical Apprentices Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience): HNC level education or proven electrical experience in a large industrial environment Knowledge and understanding of a melting shop environment Strong practical Mechanical/Electrical hands-on skills Experience leading, coaching, and developing others Familiarity with continuous improvement programmes, specifically planned maintenance activities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong planning and problem-solving abilities Good knowledge of health, safety, and environmental policies Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience): Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., C&G 18th Edition) Experience working in a heavy industry or steel making environment Technologies: Proficiency in using SAP or similar systems for recording and tracking engineering issues How to apply: If you are ready to take on a challenging role in a dynamic and innovative environment, we want to hear from you Please submit your CV and a cover letter outlining your relevant experience and why you are interested in this role.
