Classification: Essential: This position is an Essential classification and will require employee to report to duty after a hurricane or emergency.
Schedule: This position normally works a regular weekday daytime shift and requires scheduled/unscheduled overtime, including evenings, weekends, and holidays and/or immediate response to emergency conditions.

General Purpose of the Position: Under general supervision, manages the customer service functions for the Fleet Division, including but not limited to tracking all repairs, tracking warranties, creating work orders, and scheduling maintenance with citywide departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The duties listed below are intended only as general illustrations of the several types of work that may be performed. 1. Provides customer service by greeting customers, gathering accurate and thorough vehicle and contact information from customers.
2. Responds to questions and/or concerns from vehicle operators regarding work performed.
3. Prepares work order for service and repair, responds to requests and provides information as needed.
4. Diagnoses and prioritizes problems regarding safety/out of service criteria.
5. Responsible for scheduling and monitoring all work performed by vendors.
6. Monitors vehicle ready and repair line and motor pool line.
7. Tracks and coordinates accident repairs and warranty work.
8. May perform clerical duties and assist parts clerk with entering invoices into work orders or stock.
9. May pick up and deliver parts, vehicles, and/or equipment to and from vendors and customers as needed.
10. Schedules requests for road maintenance and tire service.
11. Completes daily, weekly, and monthly fuel and yard reports. Follows all policies and procedures of the Purchasing Department on all Fleet purchases.
12. Cultivates inclusive and respectful working relationships that support a sense of belonging for citywide personnel.
13. Assists with fuel management system.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.

Equipment and Software Used: Mobile radio, telephone, cell phone, computer, copier, scanner, MS Office software, Public Stuff Pro software, MUNIS software, and other software programs and equipment. May be asked to drive non-CDL vehicles.
Education and Experience Required: High School Diploma or GED equivalent, and two (2) years’ experience in the automotive repair industry.
Certification, Licenses, Registrations: Must possess at the time of hire and be able to maintain a valid driver license.

Environmental Conditions: Work is primarily performed indoors, or in an office setting. Will have to walk through open bays in varying and extreme weather conditions for brief periods of time where employees are exposed to excessively loud noises from equipment, exposure to heavy equipment, fuel, oil, hazardous gases, fumes, paint, and chemicals. Occasional exposure to slippery and/or uneven surfaces. Subject to 24-hour call back for emergency conditions. Appropriate training and safety equipment will be provided for all conditions.
