Are you a motivated and dedicated professional who is passionate about safeguarding? We are recruiting for a 0.8 WTE Named Nurse for the Safeguarding Children Team. This specialist role involves working across services for our integrated Acute and Community Trust.
The successful practitioner will actively contribute to multi-agency partnership working arrangements for safeguarding children, including working within the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). If you have the relevant skills and want to work in a growing safeguarding team committed to improving outcomes for children and families, we would love to hear from you.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work in a busy and supportive Safeguarding Children Team and will:
1. Work collaboratively with Named and Designated Doctors, Designated Nurse and other agencies to ensure that children are effectively safeguarded.
2. Deliver training and safeguarding supervision; undertake research and audits; provide expert advice and support to staff within the Trust.
3. Evidence partnership working and have appropriate post-registration experience, including extensive clinical experience with complex safeguarding issues.
4. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure and deal with sensitive concerns professionally.

Qualifications
* Registered Nurse or Specialist Community Health Nurse (SCHN)
* Educated at Degree Level
* Evidence of academic studies relating to safeguarding children post-qualifying
* 998/7307 Teaching Qualification or equivalent
* NSPCC Safeguarding Supervision Supervisor Skills Course or equivalent
Knowledge
* Comprehensive knowledge of current legislation relating to Safeguarding children and young people
* Understanding of leadership and team dynamics including conflict resolution
Skills
* Good written communication skills
* Evidence of report writing
* Experience of completing audit reports
* Planning and delivering training sessions
Experience
* Experience of assessing risk and need for children and families
* Experience of managing risks and reporting and escalating concerns
* Extensive post-qualifying experience in community or acute settings
