Pupils may have experience child trauma, PTSD and as a result have struggled in mainstream education due to anxiety, behavioural needs and low-self-esteem. We are currently seeking Full-time Learning Support Assistants to support secondary aged pupils (11-16 ) in a range lessons and activities, helping them thrive academically and socially. What we’re looking for; We require individuals who are nurturing, resilient and have excellent interpersonal skills. While academic support is a huge part of the role, being able to form meaningful professional relationships with pupils is essential to being successful. The role can present various challenges as education can be hard to navigate for secondary pupils with SEMH needs. You will be able to manage challenging behaviour and de-escalate situations as they arise, always approaching situations calmly and with an awareness of obstacles pupils may be navigating.
