Interim PT Registered Building Inspector - Project

Pay Rate: £30.77 per hour PAYE
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, TBC
This opening assignment is for 3 months (TBC)
City: WALSALL
Part-time: Flexible (can be done in the evening or weekends depending on candidates’ availability)
A Class 3 Registered Building Inspector is needed to join the team for a legacy project involving the inspection and certification of 20 high-rise residential apartment buildings. Your primary responsibility will be to assess the project’s compliance with building regulations and issue completion certificates where appropriate. This role offers flexible, part-time working hours and will last until project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct thorough inspections of high-rise residential buildings to ensure compliance with regulations.
2. Review and assess documentation related to building codes and standards.
3. Issue completion certificates upon successful inspection.
4. Maintain clear and accurate reports of each inspection.
5. Liaise with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
1. Valid Class 3 Building Inspector registration.
2. Full driving licence with the ability to travel to sites around Walsall and surrounding areas.
Knowledge:
1. In-depth knowledge of Building Regulations ancillary legislation and building construction.
2. Awareness and ability to follow Health & Safety Procedures.
Experience:
1. Previous experience in inspecting high-rise residential properties is preferred.
Skills & Abilities:
1. Able to work unsupervised and make judgements as to adequacy of building work and compliance with the Regulations.
2. Able to identify work that fails to comply and the necessary procedures to both identify (record) and report on any non-compliance.
3. Able to undertake assessment and supervision of dangerous structures.
