Job Overview: We seek a highly skilled and motivated Planning Engineer to join our Production Planning team. This role is responsible for developing, agreeing, and delivering detailed planning requirements and resolving concerns for a specific Manufacturing Zone/Technology from Pre-series to End of Production (EOP). The Planning Engineer will ensure the achievement of Quality, Cost, and Delivery targets while complying with Health & Safety, IATF16949, and relevant Standards. Key Responsibilities: Technical: Evaluate Manufacturing Feasibility in line with PEP. Deliver Quality Planning (APQP) processes for Pre-series and Series Production. Ensure compliance with internal and external audit standards. Sign off on Bid specifications and product B-release in alignment with project timings. Identify facility, jig, fixture, and tooling requirements. Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge through training and benchmarking. Develop settings/parameters for equipment and processes. Implement engineering change introductions within designated zones. Manage permits and concessions. Lead resolution of process, build, and tooling issues through cross-functional collaboration. Financial: Ensure process delivery within budget constraints. Identify and manage cost risks. Support justification for Capital Expenditure Investment. Lead cost-saving initiatives to reduce operating expenses. Planning: Respond to business requirements, engineering changes, and technical documentation. Generate and monitor project milestones and deliverables. Work closely with Manufacturing, Logistics, Production, and Facilities teams to optimize efficiency. Influence changes in product and process development. Analyze technology performance metrics and controls. Project Management: Deliver projects according to Quality, Cost, and Timing objectives. Proactively identify and mitigate project risks. Track Key Performance Metrics and coordinate activities for issue resolution. Required Skills & Experience: Strong technical knowledge of product assembly, process design, facilities, and standardized work methodologies. Experience in cross-functional working within a Manufacturing or Production environment. Good understanding of business legislation, including Health & Safety. Strong communication and influencing skills across all levels. Proficiency in Continuous Improvement tools and techniques. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and measurement data. Practical knowledge of problem-solving methodologies. Understanding of Product Emergence Process (PEP) and gateway deliverables. Qualifications: Higher National Qualification (HNC/HND) with relevant manufacturing experience, OR Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
