Role Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Children's Manager to oversee the care and wellbeing of children in our Solo Placement. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of care practices, particularly in areas such areas underpinned by SAFEGUARDING OF CHILDREN including robust risk assessment skills, good communication abilities and leadership qualities. This role requires a commitment to creating a nurturing environment where children can thrive, while also ensuring compliance with Ofsted Standards ensuring all necessary documentation is prepared for the running of the home. as well as regular reviews of policies. Must have First Aid, Medication management and administration training, Safeguarding Procedures and familiarity with Ofsted inspection Framework. This is a full-time on-site role for a Registered Children's Home Manager located in Wakefield. The Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the children's home, ensuring the safety and well-being of the children in care, managing staff, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications
* Registered Manager / Must have a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Managing Children's Home qualification (as minimum but mandatory) or equivalent experience in managing children's homes (Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Child Development, or related field)
* Must have a Valid clear UK Drivers' License
* Experience in managing a children's home or similar setting
* Knowledge of child welfare policies and regulations
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* Experience in staff management and development
* Ability to work collaboratively with agencies and stakeholders
* First Aid and Safeguarding certifications
* Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Child Development, or related field
Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and monitor individual care plans tailored to each child's needs.
* Supervise and support staff in delivering high-quality care, ensuring adherence to best practices in home care and senior care.
* Lead training and development requirements for staff on effective caregiving techniques and updates on relevant legislation.
* Maintain accurate records of children's progress and any incidents, reporting these to relevant authorities as necessary.
* Robust safeguarding and child protection procedures
* Ability to build positive relationship with all multi-agencies and stakeholders
* Foster positive relationships with families, providing them with updates on their children's development and addressing any concerns.
* Ensure the facility is compliant with health and safety regulations, conducting regular audits to maintain high standards of care.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive support for children with specific needs, including those requiring dementia care.
* Proven experience in supervising staff within a healthcare service.
* Lead, develop and inspire a team to provide exceptional care for children with COMPLEX NEEDS and challenging behaviours
* Recruit and train staff from a multicultural perspective
* Strong knowledge of care plans and the ability to develop tailored strategies for individual children.
* Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
* Experience in looking after children in children's Home or care settings is highly desirable.
* Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and staff members as well as other agencies.
* A genuine passion for providing high-quality care and improving the lives of children under your supervision.
* Incident reporting and instigation procedures
* Create a warm therapeutic environment that promotes the emotional, educational and social development of our children
