Would you like to earn a salary whilst learning on the job and gaining a qualification? We have an exciting opportunity for a hands-on manufacturing Apprenticeship that presents a variety of future opportunities for successful applicants.
An additional £900 annual night shift allowance included.
Training course: Lean manufacturing operative (level 2)
Hours: 4 On, 4 Off nights 6.00pm - 6.00am, 1.5 hours unpaid breaks.
36 hours 45 minutes a week
Duration: 1 year 6 months
Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you’ll do at work
* Comply with health and safety regulations and support activities to improve safer working.
* Complete check sheets while monitoring machines and equipment data.
* Identify and solve issues in the manufacturing environment within their responsibility, escalating them when necessary.
* Adhere to and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Work with your team and communicate to ensure continuous improvement.
* Achieve OEE and waste targets.
* Set the machine to production recipes.
* Prepare raw materials for production.
* Replenish packaging and films to the production line during the shift including the stacking of trays.
* Set up batches of production as per the production plan.
* Manual handling including the stacking of finished goods.
* Carry out any other reasonable duties associated with the role as required.
No under 18s due to night shift insurances.

Your training course
Lean manufacturing operative (level 2) - Equal to GCSE
Your training plan
* This Apprenticeship Standard is delivered within the workplace, where the Apprentice will complete a Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative competency and knowledge qualification.
* IPS will support and train the learner through the component aims with monthly monitoring and assessment visits to the workplace. This will prepare the learner for End Point Assessment that is required for this Apprenticeship.
* To complete this Apprenticeship, the learner must pass Level 1 English and maths (or have the appropriate transferable skills). They must also at least take the test for Level 2.
Requirements
GCSE or equivalent in:
* English, Maths, and Science (grade 4/C and above).
Let the company know about other relevant qualifications and industry experience you have. They can adjust the apprenticeship to reflect what you already know.

Enrolment onto your apprenticeship programme is subject to prior attainment checks, and your Personal Learning Record will be reviewed upon successful appointment. We are also obligated to follow the guidelines around eligibility, set out by the government apprenticeship funding rules.
