The salary range for this position is dependent on experience level ranging from $103,939 to $129,924.
The engineer will lead teams/projects that solve complex problems taking a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions. Able to work independently with guidance on only the most complex tasks. Participates and represents UI on industry associations. Follow updates in research and development in the power industry, specifically in distributed energy resources, through training and industry associations. Responsible for high voltage, medium voltage, and low voltage transmission and distribution line designs for all operating companies in Avangrid Networks.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform detailed, complex engineering analyses, designs and calculations using standard methodology & principles & other viable approaches.
2. Develop alternate methods or design concepts to resolve problems or to improve processes/services.
3. Solves complex Distributed Generation (DG) problems.
4. Utilizes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions.
5. Approve, maintain, & understand drawings.
6. Develop & specify equipment, assemble documents & other requirements for assignments of complex level of difficulty.
7. Serve as SME for generator interconnections.
8. Lead teams, mentor & review engineering work of others.
9. Explain difficult concepts & influences others.
10. May be required to make presentations to regulatory/public entities.
11. Lead project teams to complete assigned tasks.
12. Assist in guiding and mentoring engineers in design and engineering development.
13. Manage and provide direction for resources outside of the department/company.
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
2. 7+ years minimum relevant experience required.
Technical Skills/Competencies:
1. Theoretical Engineering knowledge.
2. Practical engineering experience/application.
3. Ability to adequately document and interpret engineering documentation.
4. Knowledge of Regulatory and Compliance Environment.
