Job purpose
I am looking for 2 Support Workers to take me out or support me at my home as I require 2-1 care. My support workers will help me to gain independence away from my parents, interact with me, and encourage me to explore the world around me.
About me
I am an 8-year-old boy. I live with my family, and I have 3 siblings, and we have a busy household with lots of different needs. I love to be outside and going to the zoo! My family has passes for the zoo; however, it can be tricky to go with my allergies. I have serious dairy and egg allergies, which include if I am exposed to these topically, so none of these products should touch me. I have Pica, which makes this very challenging. I require support with personal care and for liquid allergy medication to be administered.
I use a SEN buggy when out and about and can display very unpredictable and aggressive behaviour. Having support workers will provide respite for my family.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Personal care required
* Support me either out and about or at home
* Administering allergy medication (liquid, not an EpiPen)
* Interacting with me and encouraging me to explore the world around me.
Personal Specification:
Please refer to these when submitting your application.
Essential Criteria:
* Patience
* Good communication skills
* Willing to work alongside others.
Desirable Criteria:
* Able to get to my home as I live in a village, so a car may be easier
* Experience with non-verbal children and children with SLD.
Summary terms and conditions:
* Hours, days and times of work: 3 hours per week, hours and days to be decided together
* The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work normally done during 5.6 weeks (statutory entitlement)
* You will be reimbursed for prior agreed expenses incurred as part of the role
* I do not operate a private sick pay scheme, but provided you meet the eligibility criteria, you may be entitled to Statutory Sick Pay (SSP)
* I do not operate a private pension scheme, but I will fulfil my statutory obligations via the NEST pension scheme.
