The Company
This is an exciting opportunity to work for a high- performing challenger brand that create delectable products for foodie consumers who love to stretch their tastebuds but also care about nutrition and nature positive farming.
This brand supplies a range of products into the major retailers, OOH and direct to the consumer. On an inspiring journey to expand the volume and breadth of their business with new revenue streams in the works, they need a new addition to lead the operations at their brand-new manufacturing site.
The Role
As the Head of Operations and part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will report directly to the CEO, overseeing the in-house and 3rd party manufacturing operations.
You will play an integral part in delivering an operational strategy that is efficient, resilient to disruptive events and handles risks through mitigation planning. You'll take ownership for all aspects of the site operations to achieve a productive and vibrant team environment.
Your team will include Production, Engineering and Technical teams, whose talents you will nurture and galvanise to ensure operations run smoothly with maximum efficiency. Quality and compliance will be up there on your agenda as you will be championing a culture of safety, best practice and the highest manufacturing standards.
You’ll also work closely with the Product, Supply Chain and Logistics teams to facilitate the development and launch of fabulous new products, being involved with capital projects and safeguarding quality.
One of the most exciting projects on your plate will be to manage the move of existing products into a brand-new facility, setting the factory up for further growth and success.
The Person
We’re looking for a talented Senior Operations Manager with the vision and ambition to drive this new site and the business forward. Someone who thrives in a rapidly changing environment and has the agility to flex from operating at a senior level to being hands on in the factory. Previous experience within a start-up or rapid growth / challenger brand would be ideal.
You’ll also have a real passion for food and whichever category you’re in, you fully immerse yourself in the product and process to truly understand it, along with all the nuances that take a product from being good to absolutely outstanding.
Previous experience of working at a senior level within food manufacturing is essential, along with experience taking on a new factory and managing co-manufacturing partners.
You must relish challenges, are quick to find solutions and be a leader who will get things done. Strategic, nimble, confident, commercially astute and values driven – these traits are a must for success in this business.
Happy to consider experience in any food sector, although chilled / added value meat / snacks / meals would be great to have.
