We are looking for an organised, enthusiastic, and experienced Catering Supervisor to work in our wonderful growing catering offer called ‘The Feastery’ at Grimm and Co’s Emporium of Stories in Rotherham. The successful candidate will be part of the team delivering story-themed, magical (and mortal) dining experience, for this Nationally significant arts organisation.
As a Catering & Events Supervisor, you will assist in adapting the existing story and experience of The Feastery to deliver a unique, cosy cafe and dining experience as well as a significant events destination. It is envisaged that The Feastery will be at the heart of the community, offering a relaxing and delicious place for the sharing and creation of stories, memories and building new traditions.

Some key terms/conditions of the role:
1. You will receive 25 days annual leave plus all UK Bank Holidays – pro rata.
2. Hours/FTE: 40 hours between Monday to Sunday (including some evening work). This role is full-time.

Job Description
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure high quality, creative dining experiences for all, and demonstrate excellent customer welcome and engagement.
* Support the Catering and Events manager (C&E manager) with the day-to-day running of front of house and back of house, including administrative work, customer interactions, maintaining hygiene standards and health & safety procedures.
* Supervise the team to execute all food operations, as well as serving high quality drinks as a barista and bartender.
* Work with the Catering & Events manager to create on-brand, visually impactful, delicious dishes, drinks and product displays.
* Help develop our events offering, manage diaries and ensure each event is executed perfectly.
* Ensure accuracy in cash handling, till operation and stock control.
* Aim for all targets set by the C&E manager on a day-to-day, quarterly and yearly basis.
* Attend any suitable training and development sessions for the role, which may include First Aid, Safeguarding, Food Safety, and more.
* Proactively seek feedback and use this to develop and improve the offer for a range of audiences, to help the Feastery grow and improve.
* Work closely with the retail and creative team to maximise commercial opportunities that directly support the charity's finances and ethos.
* Excitement and enthusiasm in promoting Grimm & Co’s vision, assist in raising funds to ensure the continuity of our provision.
* Support the wider team, as and when required, with any other reasonable duties in the successful delivery of the charity’s aims and objectives.
* Work in a way that improves equity, inclusivity and relevance in our catering provision to ensure all of Grimm & Co is fit for purpose and engages communities.

Essential qualifications and experience:
* Good cooking, baking and barista skills are essential
* Ability to step into any role within the café – including hot & cold food preparation and front-of-house service including working on till & preparing barista coffees.
* A passion for the hospitality industry, with relevant events/catering industry experience.
* Able to demonstrate the skills to supervise and manage a team.
* The ability to motivate and support other team members and volunteers.
* Experience in supporting the smooth operation of a kitchen including maintaining high standards of hygiene, food safety and health & safety.
* Actively working to embed equality, equity, diversity, and inclusion in your practice.
* Excellent organisational, administrative, and digital literacy skills, with an excellent knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience of working with and supporting volunteers.
