In this role you will be working as part of our Sports Development Programmes based within our venues across North Lanarkshire in a coaching/teaching role or you will be based within one of our schoolâs campusâ in a coaching role working alongside teachers from various departments. During this 12-month modern apprenticeship, you will gain experience of working with children and young people and be a part of a strong, established team of coaches or teachers. You will lead and support training sessions and lessons, which are engaging and enjoyable allowing children and young people to achieve their full potential. You will undertake an SCQF Level 6 in Sports Coaching. You will develop working knowledge on how to assist with the planning, organisation and delivery of a range of sports activities, to children and young people with varying skill levels. You donât need to have any previous experience although you should have English and at least three other National 5 level qualification at a Band A - C. Candidates who have successfully completed a relevant Foundation Apprenticeship will also be considered. During the selection process we will look for you to demonstrate the key strengths we know you will need to be successful; ambition, determination, adaptability, personality, ownership, be pro-active and show willingness to learn. In accordance with Government Guidelines, you will need to be aged 16-24 (at the point of starting the apprenticeship) or if you are disabled or care experienced you will need to be aged between 16-29 (at the point of starting the apprenticeship).
