Personal Assistant - Accident & Emergency

We are looking for a highly self-motivated and organised individual to join our busy, fast paced Accident & Emergency Secretarial service at The Royal Oldham Hospital for a full time post.
You will provide an efficient and effective PA/Administrative service to the Accident & Emergency Consultants.
Main duties of the job
The post is a challenging role and will involve dealing with patients, relatives and internal and external agencies. Enquiries will be of a sensitive/confidential nature.
A full range of administrative and clerical duties will be required and team work will be an essential part of the role as cross cover will be required.
You will have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to priorities your own workload whilst working quickly and accurately under pressure.
Previous experience in a range of secretarial/office duties is required along with RSA typing (audio, copy and word processing) or equivalent demonstrable skills.
AMSPAR or Medical terminologyqualifications/experiencewould be advantageous.

Person Specification
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
* Previous experience in a range of secretarial and office duties
* Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise
* Excellent organisational skills
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to work under pressure using own initiative in relaying complext and confidential medical information
* Practical and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
* Adaptable and flexible to meet the needs of the service
* Previous experience in a range of secretarial and office duties
* Previous experience in a medical/support secretarial role.
Qualifications
* RSA III Typing or equivalent
* Audio, Copy and shorthand Typing
* AMSPAR or equivalent
* Certificate in Medical Terminology
