Location: Merthyr Tydfil
Hours: Monday to Thursday (8.00am - 4.45pm) and Friday (8.00am - 12.00)
Salary: Up to £40,000 DOE
Holidays: 26 + 8 bank holidays - shut downs include, 1 week in May, 2 weeks in August, 2 days in October and Christmas.
Overview:
Working for a large manufacturing business, the Tooling Engineer will be responsible for the design and process of manufacturing tooling for injection moulding machinery. They will supervise the day to day running of the toolroom which includes 5 manual machinists. Duties to also include:
* Developing new tooling designs tailored to client or project needs.
* Creating prototypes and testing innovative designs for quality assurance.
* Liaising with teams at manufacturing sites to gather data and refine designs.
* Building relationships with vendors and contractors to secure the best deals.
* Supporting production with engineering expertise and troubleshooting.
The ideal candidate / Tooling Engineer may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:
* Previous experience working in a Toolroom in a manufacturing environment.
* A strong communicator with the ability to coach and lead.
* Qualified to HNC/HND level in Toolmaking, Manufacturing or an Engineering discipline.
* Practical experience in a manufacturing environment (Injection Moulding preferable).
