About the Role:
My client are looking for a highly skilled and versatile Fire and Security Engineer to join their dynamic team, covering the South West of England. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, and maintenance of a variety of fire and security systems, including fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, access control, and emergency lighting systems. You will be working across a range of commercial, residential, and industrial sites, ensuring the safety and security of their clients.

Salary: £36,000 - £40,000 Basic DOE

Key Responsibilities:
Install, service, and maintain fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, access control systems, and emergency lighting.
Conduct routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance on fire and security systems.
Diagnose and repair faults and breakdowns on all types of fire and security systems.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, codes of practice, and regulatory requirements.
Provide technical support and training to clients on system operations and best practices.
Maintain accurate records of work carried out, including service reports, maintenance logs, and certification documentation.
Provide exceptional customer service, building and maintaining strong client relationships.
Liaise with other engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project deadlines and client expectations are met.
Participate in a call-out rota for emergency response and support.
Qualifications and Experience:
Proven experience as a Fire and Security Engineer, with expertise in installing, maintaining, and servicing fire and security systems.
Competence in working with a range of fire and security equipment from various manufacturers.
Strong understanding of relevant British Standards (e.g., BS 5839, BS 5266) and other industry regulations.
Excellent fault-finding, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manuals.
Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
Full UK driving license is essential.
Desirable:
Relevant certifications (e.g., FIA, BAFE, NSI, or equivalent).
Knowledge of IP-based security systems and networked fire alarm systems.
Experience with emergency lighting systems.
