About the Role
As a Trends writer, you will work across our LADbible Group Brands, predominantly LADbible. You will be utilising creative and analytical skills to enhance the LADbible Group brand image whilst continuously developing and improving the quality of articles by reviewing and responding to audience feedback.
Using awareness of current news, trends and viral content to produce quality articles at speed to both engage and maximise audience potential from all referral streams, specifically our sizable Google readership, the preferred candidate would create fresh, original content around the biggest stories of the week.
What the opportunity looks like
* Delivering up-to-date content around trending topics on all parts of the publishing journey - from ideation to creation
* Strengthening the authoritative spaces LADbible operates in on the digital landscape, while creating and growing others from scratch
* Ensure all deadlines and quotas are met within set timeframes
* Ensuring editorial execution across LADbible and other LADbible Group websites
* Pitching original ideas and follow-up angles for the biggest stories across our brands
* Possessing the ability to also meet targets from social referrers when required
* Remaining proactive by researching and seeking the latest news, trends, gossip and reports ahead of competitors
* Working as a proactive member of LADbible Group Editorial team
* Producing trending articles at speed while maintaining impeccable grammar
* A strong understanding of the tone of each brand
* Actively contributing to team meetings, pitches and article ideas
* Monitoring user activity on articles and using it to inform pitches for original content and follow-up stories
* Daily monitoring of content performance from search audience
Skills and experience we’d like you to have
* Have a journalistic background with newsroom experience
* Demonstrable publishing with impeccable quality, and at speed
* NCTJ qualified
* Previous experience within a similar role
* Target-driven and the ability to meet tight deadlines
* Proven SEO knowledge and experience, including understanding and usage of SEO tools including Google Trends and Google Search Console
* A demonstrably high standard of written English
* A proven ability to conceive, create and produce new, original ideas for specific audiences while continually delivering unique and engaging content in the LADbible tone
* Strong communication and organisational skills in a newsroom environment, including forward planning
At LADbible Group we've rolled out blended working which means the majority of departments across the business (including London, Manchester and International offices) work in the office 3 days per week.
