We are now seeking to appoint a Director of Estates and Facilities to play a central role in the delivery of BCU's bold 2030 Strategy. This pivotal position will focus on the strategic development and day-to-day management of our estate, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and infrastructure. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director will oversee a dedicated team of approximately 160 professionals, leading efforts to deliver a proactive, customer-focused approach to facilities management. This will ensure our teaching, residential, and working environments support and enhance the experience of all BCU stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Lead the strategic direction and management of BCU’s physical estate, ensuring it supports the university’s educational, research, and student experience objectives. Drive initiatives focused on environmental sustainability, infrastructure development, and capital planning in alignment with the BCU 2030 Strategy. Manage and inspire a diverse team of 160 staff, ensuring a high level of performance and delivery of quality services. Foster a collaborative, customer-centric approach to facilities management that enhances the environment for students, staff, and visitors alike. Work closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders to implement long-term property development and facilities strategies. Experience in the higher education sector is desirable, while familiarity with the local Birmingham area and planning authority is essential to the role.
