If you are as passionate about nursing care as we are, please do apply Duties will include; Assisting in our busy treatment room giving wound care, vaccinations and dealing with minor injuries. Completing chronic disease annual reviews, lifestyle advice or health checks. Assisting in the treatment and management of gravitational ulcers, the removal of sutures and any emergency that presents. Providing information and advice on prescribed or over-the-counter medication, medication regimes, side-effects and interactions. Carrying out health screening checks for 40-74 year olds. Assisting the Doctors in the running of various clinics including; baby and child immunisation, minor operations and health promotion and any chronic disease management clinics undertaken by the practice. Administering immunisations for children and adults. Advising patients on request with a view to diagnosis, treatment or referral for further advice and/or treatment from another source. About the Candidate All applicants should have the following qualifications, registrations, skills and experience: Essential: A relevant nursing degree. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Change-management skills and ability to support patients to change lifestyle. Uses initiative. Team player and the ability to work independently when required. Ability to prioritise. Desirable: Experience of working in a primary care setting. Experience of working in a GP practice. Experience of dealing with chronic illnesses. About Us We are a practice with approx. 12500 patients. We have 8 GPs, and a mixture of advanced nurse practitioners, prescribing nurses, non- prescribing nurses, clinical pharmacists, paramedic, pharmacy technicians. Supported by a loyal and capable admin and reception team. We have a strong training ethos and throughout the year support GP registrars, nursing students, pharmacy students, medical students from Cambridge University and NNUH. We offer work experience to those at the very start of their medical professional journey. We participate in many research studies, and will often look to pilot many new initiatives for both the CCG or local primary care network.
