This role is responsible for producing, reviewing, and commenting on drawings while ensuring that the work is planned and executed in accordance with Katoni’s project execution plan and policies for Health and Safety, Quality, and Environmental protection.
You’ll liaise with your colleagues in the Engineering team and sometimes clients to ensure we are meeting their needs. Your experience will mean you’ll work with minimal supervision, but rest assured the team is here to support you.
You’ll contribute to building strong and valued relationships with your clients and new people you meet during work.
You’ll also spend time offshore as part of the job and will need to plan for time away from home from time to time.
The core of the role
In this role, you will be expected to deliver the following:
1. Work in accordance with Katoni’s integrated management system and help improve this system as we move forward.
2. Work with our Engineering team to ensure output is of the highest quality and compliance with relevant standards, codes, and procedures.
3. Work to industry standards and Katoni drawing procedures.
4. Ensure all CAD files are stored in the appropriate project folders.
5. 2D drawing and detailing.
6. Independent production of Instrument and electrical drawings.
7. AutoCAD output with true regard to Safety and compliance with national and Client Codes & Standards.
8. Efficient interpretation of Clients, other design disciplines, and supplier information to ensure project deadlines are met in a timely manner.
9. Participation in internal and external design reviews.
10. Carry out site surveys.
11. Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control Process.
12. Ensure, as far as is practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with the agreed budget and schedule.
13. Maintain required technical quality of work.
14. Keep up to date with technical developments, national and international standards, and legislative requirements related to discipline workscope.
15. Maintain filing system.
16. Provide technical assistance to discipline assigned personnel as required.
17. Assist Lead/Senior Engineer and others when requested in the execution of their responsibilities and duties.

Qualifications and experience (all desirable but not all necessary)
1. You’ll probably have experience in the oil and gas industry or a similar engineering environment.
2. Experience of offshore/onshore site survey practices and procedures.
3. Knowledge of materials used within the discipline.
4. An exceptional communicator in both written and verbal situations.
5. Computer literate in Microsoft applications.
6. Ability to demonstrate you can work at pace with a fine eye for detail.
7. Current offshore medical certificate.
8. Material selection knowledge.
9. Experience in 2D and 3D CAD modelling is essential, preferably with Inventor and Plant 3D.
