To be successful in this Buyer - Manufacturing role, Cambridgeshire your responsibilities will be:
Place orders generated from suggestions from the ERP system and from internal PO requests for sites in the UK
Chase overdue and upcoming orders for sites in the UK.
Liaise with suppliers to expedite, cancel or push back orders according to system demand.
Maintain accurate records for all purchasing activities ensuring that information is always up to
date and correct
Arrange and attend both off- and on-site visits with suppliers for audit purposes.
Prepare audit packs for Supplier audits in collaboration with the QA teamProvide purchasing KPI packs to the Supply Chain Manager monthly.
Identify purchase cost variances +/-10% of the Standard cost and alert the Supply Chain Manager
when found.
Attend daily production meetings and work closely with the Production Planning team
Identify purchase cost variances +/-10% of the Standard cost and alert the Supply Chain Manager
when found.
Use Lean5S training to actively review the purchasing procedures and work instructions and
eliminate any waste in the processes.
Strive to attain cost savings to the company to protect cashflow
Be flexible and willing to involve yourself in other tasks as required by the company.Profile
To be successful in this Buyer - Manufacturing role, the successful candidate must have:
Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
Proven negotiations skills to secure discounts whilst maintaining excellent relationships with
suppliers.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Previous experience in a manufacturing purchasing environment.
Ability to react quickly to changes in demand.
Experience with ERP systems.Job Offer
Package for the Buyer - Manufacturing role, Cambridgeshire will include:
Hybrid Working (3 days on site, 2 days remote once probation passed)
Flexi time (Core hours 10-3 Monday to Thursday, no core hours Fridays. Able to work between 6am and 7pm Monday to Thursday, 6am - 6pm on a Friday, hours can be condensed down to provide a flexi Friday off work if there is cover)
37.5 hours per week
