About the role The Diagnostic Solutions Consultant (DxSC) is a senior sales role in the IDS commercial team, focusing on developing and closing high-value, complex opportunities within Pathology Networks, Health Boards, and Pathology Services. The role involves engaging senior pathology stakeholders to create solutions that improve efficiency, performance, and patient safety across the BD IDS portfolio, including Specimen Management, Automated Microbiology, and Molecular Diagnostics. In Microbiology, the DxSC will position BD as the preferred provider using BD Kiestra Lab Automation and BD Synapsys software, while in Specimen Management, the focus will be on standardizing specimen management devices and converting competitors to BD Vacutainer technologies. For Molecular Diagnostics, the DxSC will promote BD COR system solutions, emphasizing the diagnostic pathway's impact on patient care and hospital performance. The role requires leading and collaborating with cross-functional BD teams, supporting local account managers with technical and commercial expertise, and leading a matrix sales and support team to ensure alignment with customer and BD goals. Building strong internal relationships within UK and European teams is essential, as is following BD sales processes and applying company tools to progress opportunities. The ideal candidate is an expert sales professional with a track record of securing new business within NHS Pathology Networks and is familiar with typical buying processes, including tendering and managed services. Main responsibilities will include: - Commercial project leadership for large Lab Automation, Full Microbiology and/or high-value MSC opportunities - Accountable for BD Kiestra sales figures in your territory, including capital and consumable sales - Manage senior Pathology stakeholder relationships for targeted opportunities, use these relationships to create "pull-through" opportunities for the IDS microbiology portfolio - Further develop the relationships and opportunities to open the door for the full IDS portfolio, including high throughput molecular solutions and specimen management devices - Operate within the defined Customer Engagement Model and utilise the full range of BD's tools and systems as required.
