Job Description:
Job Duties:
Source and purchase materials required for manufacturing and engineering processes
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials
Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to obtain the best pricing and payment conditions
Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock of materials at all times
Collaborate with internal teams to understand material requirements and forecast demand
Analyse market trends and industry developments to make informed purchasing decisions
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Materials Buyer or similar role
Excellent negotiation and communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Experience:
At least 3 years of experience in purchasing materials within the manufacturing or engineering industry
Knowledge and Skills:
Understanding of supply chain management principles
Familiarity with procurement processes and practises
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Working Conditions:
Office-based role with occasional visits to supplier sites
Regular working hours with potential for overtime during busy periods
