Job Description:
Job Duties:
* Source and purchase materials required for manufacturing and engineering processes
* Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials
* Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to obtain the best pricing and payment conditions
* Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock of materials at all times
* Collaborate with internal teams to understand material requirements and forecast demand
* Analyse market trends and industry developments to make informed purchasing decisions
Required Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Materials Buyer or similar role
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Experience:
At least 3 years of experience in purchasing materials within the manufacturing or engineering industry
Knowledge and Skills:
* Understanding of supply chain management principles
* Familiarity with procurement processes and practises
* Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Working Conditions:
* Office-based role with occasional visits to supplier sites
* Regular working hours with potential for overtime during busy periods
