Department Overview Markets, Banking, Payments and Resolution (MBP&R) Chief Operating Office Division is responsible for providing support services to maximise the effectiveness of day-to-day operations and strategic deliverables. Our 70 colleagues have a wide range of expertise given our diverse remit, split into four teams: Change Delivery (oversight of significant changes to Bank critical systems), Operational Risk (operational risk, anti-money laundering and compliance), Operational Resilience (ability to identify and respond to disruptive events) and Business Planning (budget planning and control, resource planning and people-related processes and topics). The People Strategy Senior Analyst role is part of a small People Strategy team aligned to the Business Planning team. The work we do and the businesses we support mean this is a very interesting Division, where we need to balance long-term analytical work with fast-paced operational deliverables. Job description The People Strategy Senior Analyst will be part of a small team and will work with the HR (People Directorate and Central Ops - Shared Services teams) and MBP&R managers to provide HR support, challenge and guidance to c.800 MBP&R staff with the aim of delivering sustainable organisational performance. This includes all aspects of the employee life cycle (attraction, recruitment, performance, development, retention, and exit) and aligned to the MBP&R Diversity and Inclusion Strategy, our talent strategy, and current taskforce initiatives. The People Strategy team are involved in a broad range of interesting and varied activities and the role holder will have specific deliverables allocated to them, taking into account their previous experience, career aspirations and development goals. This is an exciting opportunity, and responsibilities are likely to include: Supporting the annual performance management process and leading on elements such as guidance on performance reviews and co-ordinating 360 feedback. Co-ordinating the Future Talent Recruitment needs and processes, working with Future Talent connectors across the MBP&R directorates. Managing the smooth running of inclusive recruitment initiatives, including external recruitment campaigns, pooled recruitment processes and induction strategies such as open days. Managing the talent management process across MBP&R, working with managers to provide toolkits, collate talent data and to agree career development and retention strategies. Key deliverables include our Emerging Talent Programme, in-role promotion nominations and new training frameworks. Supporting the delivery of the MBP&R Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategy which includes initiatives on wellbeing, inclusive leadership, diversity of thought and psychological safety. As part of a small team (senior manager, DE&I lead, and two analysts), the role demands the ability for the role holder to operate outside of their comfort zone, getting involved with unfamiliar work and making decisions based on judgement when there is no evident "right" way forward. However, this also means the role offers great opportunities for professional and personal development, building relationships and raising profile through day-to-day interactions with MBP&R Heads of Department and managers. The role holder will work collaboratively with the central HR teams to ensure the Governorship adheres to Bank-wide policies and processes, but understand the business' perspective to challenge HR and flex approaches when necessary. Role Requirements Minimum Essential Criteria Previous experience in HR and/or managing people processes, either in the Bank or elsewhere Strong prioritisation and workload management skills, with the ability to respond calmly under pressure and deliver to a high standard against tight deadlines. Analytical capability in working with MI and data to provide the right information in the right format to support resource planning and action planning Previous experience of building and maintaining robust relationships with colleagues at different scales, given the sensitive nature of some of the work. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences at all levels A commitment to championing diversity and inclusion within your organisation Desirable Criteria Exposure to operational areas, to understand some of the constraints related to their work. Salary and Benefits Information We encourage flexible working, part time working and job share arrangements. Part time salary and benefits will be on a pro-rated basis as appropriate. This role is based in our Leeds office with a salary of £47,430 per annum. In addition, we also offer a comprehensive benefits package as detailed below: A non-contributory, career average pension giving you a guaranteed retirement benefit of 1/95th of your annual salary for every year worked. There is the option to increase your pension (to 1/50th) or decrease (to 1/120th) in exchange for salary through our flexible benefits programme each year.
