The East Locality Social Work Team covers the East of the Middlesbrough area. The service is very keen to promote flexible working for all staff, including agile working at home as well as Middlesbrough Council bases. If you are looking for a new challenge, then the East Locality Social Work Team is for you!
To help us recruit social workers who are committed to working in Middlesbrough, we are currently offering a 10% supplement to social work salaries, which will be reviewed at the end of March 2025.
We are seeking to appoint a social worker with experience in multi-agency working. The role will involve assessing individuals, both service users and carers, who live in East Middlesbrough. This includes completing comprehensive Care Needs assessments and support plans, and implementing services for those who are vulnerable and experiencing trauma. Middlesbrough Council is an exciting and rewarding place to work.
We have strong Council Values that underpin every aspect of the council and the services we provide. New staff joining Middlesbrough can expect a welcome induction from the Chief Executive as well as a full induction programme within the team. Middlesbrough is passionate about improving the lives of all its residents and we are working hard to deliver bespoke services to meet changing demands. We are seeking to recruit social workers committed to providing a high-quality service, who are effective in meeting tight deadlines and can ensure they represent the council’s values to provide a positive customer experience.
Middlesbrough Council offers superb training and development opportunities via our online training portal and through our workforce development lead. For ASYE social workers, we provide a high level of support with experienced social workers offering regular and tailored guidance, along with regular staff catch-ups and development sessions.
As a service, we are committed to supporting our staff and providing a healthy work culture. Staff have access to regular supervisions as well as other staff support forums.
Applications are sought from individuals who are committed to demonstrating the values of Middlesbrough Council and who will also:
1. Have effective assessment and care management skills.
2. Be able to work in a busy environment and to tight time scales.
3. Be committed to multi-disciplinary working.
4. Be proactive and innovative in working with adults in need of care and support.
We will support you by providing regular supervision and access to training. Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals (CSS, CQSW, DipSW, Degree in Social Work). Applicants should also be registered, or eligible for registration, with Social Work England.
