We are delighted to be recruiting for a Leader within the Group Sales and Meetings & Events team, to lead the team in converting and managing group business for our reimagined dining experiences, event spaces and newly refurbished 235 guestrooms and suites, and as our Head of Group & Events you will play a key role.

The Role:
As our Head of Group & Events for The Caledonian Edinburgh, you will lead the Groups, Conference & Events Team while ensuring the conversion and revenue maximisation of incoming leads as well as a smooth planning experience and overall client satisfaction. Specifically, leading the Groups, Conference & Events team.
Reporting to the Commercial Director, you and your team will deliver an exceptional guest experience in accordance with our core values of care, connection and curation.
What a typical working week will look like:
* Support and coach the GC&E Team
* Oversee the receipt and conversion of incoming enquiries by the GC&E team to achieve targets and maximize revenue
* Assist the team in passionately converting customer enquiries
* Set and achieve departmental goals and KPIs
* Produce weekly and monthly forecasts reports
* Regular review and modification of GC&E strategy alongside Commercial Director and Revenue Manager
* Frequent presentations to Senior Executive and Business Stakeholders.
* Seek opportunities to increase sales and guest satisfaction within the Team
* Ensure effective planning and billing procedures leading to high guest satisfaction
* Event Manage certain key accounts, events and annual events.
* Build strong relationships with key customers
* Participate in hotel promotional activities
* Work effectively with the other commercial and operational departments
What are we looking for?
* A Head of Group & Events is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members and Departments. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:
* Demonstrated previous experience in a GC&E leadership role
* Leadership skills
* Excellent organisational and administration skills
* Positive attitude and strong communication skills
* Confident in numerical skills, reporting and data analysis
* Knowledge of hotel systems, with OnQ and Delphi platform knowledge preferred.
* Excellent grooming standards
* Demonstrated previous experience working in a Sales environment
* Detail focus
* Resilience and ability to thrive even in high pressure situations
* It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
* Knowledge of the hotel property management systems
* Qualification, degree, or certification in a relevant field
