The Post Office Horizon Redress Unit is the team within DBT set up to deliver on the Government's commitment to compensate individuals who have been wronged by the Post Office scandal. This work is one of the Department’s highest priorities and biggest challenges. The work is subject to high levels of public, parliamentary and press scrutiny. The Government has committed to getting compensation out of the door to individuals as rapidly as possible and so the Unit will need to work at pace and be highly effective if it is to deliver on this ambitious commitment. Joining the team is a chance to make a big difference to the hundreds of people who have suffered a great injustice.
This role will report directly to the Financial approvals & reporting lead and sits within the Post Office Programme Management Office (PMO) team. It will provide support across the whole Post Office function from finance, reporting, resourcing, FOI response and other duties as required.
You will be a self-starting, highly organised individual who can be entrusted to work professionally with high energy.
The Postholder will be expected to:
Development and implementation of consistent and best practice finance processes across all the functions within the Post Office Horizon redress team.
Work with team of Analysts to develop robust monthly financial forecasts across the redress schemes.
Provide support to the finance function of the redress teams.
Build a good understanding of Post Office redress schemes, understanding the financial and performance drivers, risks and issues.
Support G7 on year-end fiscal management and processing returns.
Support for the monthly HR Data management returns.
Provide Support for the directorate annual Business Planning processes.
Lead on collation of FOI responses for the PMO function.
Support G7 to review and comment on individual redress cases from a finance perspective when required.
Support and cover for G7 at scheme progress meetings when required.
