An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Respiratory Team at Wye Valley NHS Trust Hereford, who are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Band 6, Oxygen Nurse to join their Oxygen Service at 30hrs a week.
This is a fantastic opportunity to expand and enhance your specialist knowledge and skills within the Respiratory Discipline. The successful candidate will join the existing oxygen team to provide high quality oxygen assessments, initiation of appropriate domiciliary therapy and provide ongoing support, education and review for those patients and their carers' in Herefordshire and surrounding area, who requires domiciliary Oxygen Therapy.
Main duties of the job
1. Hereford Home Oxygen Assessment and Review service (HOSAR) is responsible for providing clinical assessment, review and support for all patients requiring domiciliary oxygen therapy in Herefordshire (and surrounding areas including Powys). This post will be outpatient based, providing specialist assessment, review and advice to patients and their families, ensuring the delivery of safe and effective care for those patients requiring domiciliary oxygen. The post holder will:
o Perform oxygen assessments, assessing need for long term and ambulatory and short burst oxygen, ensuring appropriate and safe prescribing.
o Review, manage and support patients on domiciliary oxygen therapy.
2. Provide specialist advice and support to both Primary and Secondary Care staff on appropriate and safe oxygen prescribing.
