Job summary We are excited to seek a Lead Pharmacy Technician to join our aseptic services team. You will be responsible for day-to day leadership in the cleanrooms, overseeing the operational delivery of preparation activities and ensuring compliance with the Quality Assurance processes for Aseptic Preparation Services. In this role you will play a key part in supporting the PQS to ensure products are prepared in accordance with GMP principles. You will also be responsible for checking and releasing aseptically prepared products. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join our team as we are a designated "pathfinder" site. In the near future we will be moving to a purpose built, off-site aseptic facility, significantly expanding our capacity to manufacture aseptic products under an MS License to supply the region. This will be in collaboration with Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, as part of a one hub, two-site site regional aseptic hub facility. You will be directly involved in the commissioning of the new unit, designing production processes and the recruitment and training of the team. Main duties of the job Works as part of the senior aseptic services team delivering aseptic services under section 10 of the Medicines Act 1968 and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). Responsible to the Aseptic Services Manager and the Accountable Pharmacist/Deputy for the delivery of of the pharmacy aseptic service to patients within all care areas that require the provision. Deputises for the Aseptic Services Manager in the operational delivery of the Aseptic Services Unit (ASU), ensuring the effective and efficient supply of aseptically prepared medicines both prepared in-house and outsourced to specials manufacturers. To assist the Aseptic Services Manager and the Accountable Pharmacist in the leadership and management of all aspects of aseptic services to ensure compliance with the Quality Assurance of Aseptic Preparation Services. Works as part of the senior aseptic services team to provide and develop pharmaceutical care for patients served by the pharmacy aseptic service. Act as team leader for the aseptic services pharmacy team in the absence of senior colleagues and deputising for the Aseptic Services Manager.
