We are seeking an experienced Project Environmental Adviser to provide specialist environmental advice to our business, focusing on environmental management, legislative compliance, and pollution prevention.
The role is responsible for ensuring the safe and environmentally compliant operation of our business and maintaining knowledge in Environmental Legislation.
The Opportunity
This exciting opportunity requires interacting with regulators to foster a constructive relationship and liaising with other organisations/departments on site to ensure environmental compliance.
Your Duties and Responsibilities
1. Ensure compliance with Environmental Permits and prevent non-compliances.
2. Implement arrangements within the Management System to comply with Environmental legislation and best practice solutions.
3. Provide advice on contaminated land monitoring and in-ground contaminant management.
4. Offer timely, appropriate, and pragmatic environmental advice on compliance with environmental regulations, site permits, pollution prevention, emissions, and the environmental management system.
5. Provide technical advice on Best Available Techniques reviews for Permitting and waste disposal.
6. Conduct audits and inspections to ensure operations comply with company arrangements and environmental legislation.
7. Prepare Technical Reports as required, such as applications to vary Environmental Permit(s).
Your Qualifications and Experience
1. Experience in environmental management and pollution prevention from a construction/decommissioning perspective.
2. Ability to investigate, seek information, and make recommendations based on findings.
3. Capacity to understand complex technical information and present it clearly (verbal and written).
4. Relevant Graduate level education or equivalent.
5. IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management.
6. NEBOSH General Certificate or higher.
7. SC Clearance is required.
