Are you from a Housing and Tenancy Management background with experience in homelessness services? We have an exciting opportunity within our Supported Living Team to work as a Supported Housing Officer.
You will be responsible for the management of approx. 280 units of supported stock, across several local authorities, designed or designated for specific client groups across the full spectrum of needs e.g. autism, learning disabilities, Mental Health, physical disabilities, homelessness, care leaver, complex need, domestic abuse, care leavers etc.
Reporting to the Supported Housing Lead, you will follow our policies and procedures coordinating the management of tenancies, rent collection and arrears management, allocation and letting of properties, monitoring partners/support providers Health & Safety compliance in line with MSV requirements on our supported schemes.
What do our Supported Living Officers do:
* Liaise with referral agencies and the Local Authority regarding nominations to the Supported Living schemes, letting the property following allocation and advising new tenants of their rights and responsibilities.
* Ensure that all Managing Agents are monitored on a regular basis as agreed by the risk assessment and visiting the projects on a six-monthly basis to ensure that the schemes are operating efficiently and effectively and all MSV repair obligations are being met.
* Support the Contract Coordinator to ensure all partners have Management/Service Level agreements in place.
* Ensure that all schemes have good Health and Safety Policies in place and carry out risk assessments, have regular fire safety checks, incident and accident books and have Health and Safety as an item at team meetings.
What we are looking for:
* Experience of Housing Management e.g. rent arrears, allocations, ASB, safeguarding, tenancy inspections etc.
* Experience working in supported housing management engaging with tenants with various levels of ability.
* A good understanding of vulnerable tenants needs in a social housing context.
* Experience in successful working with other agencies.
* Understanding of Landlord/tenant/support – care providers and managing agents’ relationships and responsibilities.
* Customer focused and a desire to provide services to a high standard.
You will be required to attend our schemes across the northwest; therefore, a valid driving licence will be required.
