A Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership (MNVP) is an NHS working group of women, birthing people and their families, commissioners and maternity and neonatal service staff collaborating to review and develop local maternity and neonatal care.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference to maternity and neonatal care across Herefordshire and Worcestershire. The MNVP Strategic Lead role will work alongside both Herefordshire and Worcestershire MNVPs to influence improvements in the safety, quality, and experience of maternity and neonatal care. They will work with the place-based leads to identify priorities and deliver an agreed workplan and objectives of each of the MNVPs. They are expected to use their influence to drive the delivery of highly effective interventions and visible outcomes, as required according to our local need.
An MNVP listens to the experiences of women and families, and brings together service users, staff and other stakeholders to plan, review and improve maternity and neonatal care. The strategic lead will represent the MNVP at local and national maternity and neonatal meetings and events and provide independent challenge and scrutiny based on evidence gathered from parents/carers and professionals from both Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

3. Act as a leader for change ensuring that all activities and plans are effective and current, in line with current evidence, thinking and practice and reflective of intelligence gained through engagement.
4. Work with local MNVP leads to support delivery on the agreed workplan, with a focus on increasing the reach of the MNVPs and supporting the place-based leads in their role as patient and public voice (PPV) partners and people with lived experience.
5. Represent and promote service user voice at board level within the local system, regionally and nationally.
6. Use intelligence gained through the work of the MNVP to support senior leaders to develop operational and strategic plans that contribute towards the agreed transformation and quality surveillance deliverables, putting service users and their experience at the centre of the design and delivery of maternity and neonatal services.
7. Champion the voices of bereaved parents, marginalised and disadvantaged groups at all levels and influence strategic plans to ensure equity and accessibility of services.
8. Enable transparency across the quality and safety surveillance agenda by attending and meaningfully contributing to local governance, audit and safety meetings, including meetings specified in CNST guidance. Bringing the voice of the service user to the heart of the quality and safety agenda.
