Simply Education is seeking a dedicated Primary Teacher to join a specialist SEMH provision in Stoke on Trent. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about working with students who face unique learning and emotional challenges, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and other complex learning difficulties.

As a Primary Teacher within this SEMH provision, you will provide tailored support to students with additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and develop essential life skills. Your key duties will include:
Planning and Delivering Lessons - Creating engaging and differentiated lessons across core subjects like English, Maths, and Science
Behaviour Management and Emotional Support - Implementing de-escalation strategies, using restorative approaches, and encouraging positive behaviour
Differentiated Learning - Adapting teaching methods to support the individual learning styles of students with SEMH
Social and Emotional Development - Encouraging students to build resilience, self-regulation, and emotional intelligence
Safeguarding and Student Welfare - Ensuring students are safe and supported, in line with safeguarding policies
Collaborating with SENCOs and Support Staff - Developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)Ideal Candidate Profile
Qualified Primary Teacher with a passion for supporting children with SEMH needs
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues
Experience in behaviour management and adapting lessons to meet the needs of diverse learners
Patient, resilient, and empathetic, with a proactive and solution-focused approach
Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team to support student progress
Hold (or be willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS CertificateA Typical Day as a Primary Teacher in SEMH Provision
Your day will start with a team briefing, where you'll discuss student needs, lesson plans, and intervention strategies. You'll teach core subjects, implementing tailored activities, and providing individual support as required. Throughout the day, you will use a range of behaviour management techniques, including de-escalation strategies, to ensure students stay engaged and focused. At the end of the day, you'll collaborate with the SENCO and other staff members to review progress and plan for the following day.
