Location: South Yorkshire
Salary: Up to £60,000 + Car
Reports To: General Manager/Operations Manager/Estimating Manager
Purpose of the Role:
1. To win profitable work.
2. To ensure that risks and opportunities are identified during the bid and managed.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Operations:
1. Review tenders with contract staff to determine the most efficient methods.
2. Liaise with designers to optimize the engineering solution.
3. Complete risk analysis, identifying high risks/concerns to senior management.
Customer:
1. Understand and deliver the client's requirements.
2. Develop long-lasting relationships with clients to encourage repeat business opportunities.
3. Support the branch in winning work.
4. Take an active role in maintaining the CRM system.
5. Promote cross and joint selling across all branches.
People:
1. Support team members.
2. Uphold and safeguard the organization's values and philosophy related to ethics, integrity, corporate, and social responsibility.
3. Engage in Continuous Professional Development.
4. Work to and actively embed the company's values.
5. Comply with Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in accordance with FREDIE principles.
Finance:
1. Maintain a risk-based approach to tendering.
2. Seek to maximize margins on bids by negotiating with clients and suppliers.
Experience/Skills/Qualifications/Personal Attributes
Minimum:
1. CSCS Card holder.
2. Experience as a geotechnical specialist.
3. Technical knowledge of a range of geotechnical products and solutions.
4. IT literate (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
5. Full UK Driving License.
6. Experience with specialist foundations & ground engineering.
Desirable:
1. Degree in Civil Engineering/Geology or related field.
2. Experience with large infrastructure projects.
3. Working towards chartership of a related professional body.
Personal Attributes:
1. Enthusiasm to progress within a small dedicated team in a larger specialist ground engineering company.
2. Flexibility to perform duties beyond the normal remit for the team's interests.
3. Good communication skills.
4. Ability to work as a team player and independently.
