Supply Chain Manager
As a Supply Chain Manager, you'll deliver the development, implementation, and communication of supply chain activities, working collaboratively with appointed tier 1 contractors and partners to manage capacity for common supply chains, deliver market intelligence, facilitate coordinated contractor procurement, and joint supplier development.
As a Supply Chain Manager, you will need to have/be:
1. Analytical, commercial, and negotiating skills.
2. Ability to produce and present documents and reports to a variety of audiences, including internal stakeholders at various levels in the organisation.
3. Stakeholder management skills - including the ability to establish, grow, and develop effective strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
4. Ability to effectively engage with both the awarded and potential supply chain, and with any related industry bodies and stakeholders.
5. Project management skills.
6. Ability to use Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) or equivalent.
7. Ability to manage meeting calendars and coordinate workshops/events.
8. Knowledge of government initiatives, policies, and best practice approaches relevant to SCM.
9. Understanding of the commercial and contract delivery lifecycle including key activities during market engagement, procurement, and delivery.
10. Understanding of systems and reporting applications including procurement and commercial tools.
11. Knowledge of applicable UK procurement legislation.
12. Knowledge of different procurement routes.
13. Understanding of project scheduling, planning, and project management approaches and techniques.
14. Experience of complex projects and analyzing micro and macro sector developments.
15. Experience of developing and implementing a supplier or stakeholder engagement programme.
16. Experience of establishing and leading projects end-to-end.
Details:
* Rate: £500.00 - £650.00 per day (inside IR35)
* Working Hours: Full time Monday - Friday
* Location: Hybrid, Birmingham (2 days per week)
* Duration: Until end of June 2025
Role of Supply Chain Manager:
1. Manage the assigned supply chain portfolio, collaborating with key contractors and relevant supply chain initiatives.
2. Develop and deliver a supply chain engagement strategy to enable effective communication with suppliers within the portfolio.
3. Conduct capability and capacity assessments to identify marketplace strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and risks, ensuring the organisation is a well-informed client.
4. Foster strong, transparent relationships with the supply chain to enhance the organisation's market reputation.
5. Perform detailed analyses on critical spend categories or commodities to identify strategic risks and opportunities.
6. Lead meetings, workshops, and engagement events to support supply chain management delivery.
7. Provide accurate, timely reporting in line with programme governance requirements.
8. Collaborate across the Procurement and Supply Chain Directorate where cross-functional input is required.
