We are looking for a Production Operator to work at our busy surface coatings facility at Milton Keynes,
As a Production Operator, you will be responsible for the end to end process of ensuring a quality component is delivered to our customer from goods in receipt, pre and post coating right through to the dispatch to our customers.
You will also be accountable for following Health and Safety rules and procedures that we set in place. You will be required to work both early and late shifts on a rotational basis.

Your Responsibilities
* Booking customer purchase orders into SAP, ensuring correct order, customer and shipment are selected, and that the label is correctly placed on the packaging.
* Unpacking orders in the priority set out by supervisors, ensuring not to damage the packaging or the customers parts and also looking for any damage upon receipt
* Inspecting Tools/Components for damage at incoming, ensuring customer specific and Oerlikon Balzers requirements & standards for inspection are adhered to, notification & documentation of any discrepancies or damage to supervision and customer services.
* Correctly deciphering customer orders, ensuring: coating type, tool type, material, line quantities, correct delivery dates, are used to correctly create production routing cards, to Oerlikon Balzers Standards for route creation. Notification & documentation of any discrepancies or damage to supervision and customer services.
* Placing tools and parts onto washing fixtures, ensuring safe handling methods with no scope for tool damage, as per Oerlikon Standards.
* Safely De-fixturing tools from production, ensuring the parts, quantities & order lines are correctly organised, ensuring the correct route cards are with the right parts & eliminating errors by double checking.
* Packing customer orders in a safe manner, ensuring that customer orders, part numbers, quantities, sizes are correctly placed with the right boxes and packaging. Ensuring the packaging is up to the courier method, and that the parts will be safe during transport
* Using the courier shipping system for specified customer deliveries.
* Posting of shipments using WEASY system ensuring any unmade checkpoints are passed back to the supervisors for quality checks and corrective measures.
* Reporting of quality deviations and supporting root cause analysis & assisting with the implementation of avoidance measures and corrective actions if required.
* Ensuring the equipment and areas used are kept clean and serviceable, and that all equipment is put into the correct places.
* Taking part in 5s activities including the organisation of the workplace and ensuring a smooth efficient flow of work.
Your Profile
* Experience of working in a busy production environment
* Strong eye for detail/accuracy
* Excellent communication skills
* Good IT/Computer skills
* Experience of following quality standards/carrying out quality checks would be advantageous.
* Ability to follow Health and safety standards
* Willing and able to work shifts
