Reporting to the Assistant General Manager, the Sales Account Executive role is responsible for a portfolio of customers with a budget spend of up to £15,000. You will be able to build rapport with customers and provide them with support for their packaging needs.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. To manage a portfolio of the company’s accounts approximately 1200, ensuring that profit targets are achieved and exceeded.
2. To be the main point of contact for each Account, with emphasis on the building of relationships throughout the organisation.
3. Develop excellent working relationships with customer buying teams and other relevant contacts and be responsible for managing interaction with respective company functions.
4. Take responsibility for the margins for the allocated accounts, within the overall objectives of the business.
5. Monitor, manage and control general sales costs directly associated with the allocated accounts, including terms, rebates, discounts and transport costs to achieve the agreed objectives of net margin.
6. Manage the product mix within each account to maximize sales and margin for the company.
7. Understand your customers’ business needs and ensure that you offer/upsell the company’s extensive portfolio of stock and bespoke products.
8. Whilst in contact with customers, competitors, and trade associations; present a positive and successful image of the company.
9. Working closely with the external sales team, often booking appointments for client visits as and when required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1. Proven experience in a Junior Account Management role in a B2B/distribution environment.
2. Can make decisions under pressure and has a proven track record of performing in a high-level environment.
3. Able to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions to problems and act accordingly to gain a win/win outcome for all concerned.
4. Demonstrate experience of excellent customer retention.
5. Confident phone manner with the ability to stay calm and focused under pressure (dealing with queries, customer issues).
