We are working in conjunction with our partner Rochdale Training Association to recruit for our next generation of engineers. We are seeking to recruit a number of Trainee Design Engineers to join our dynamic and experienced team in Rochdale.
A&F Sprinklers has been established since 1986 and has seen rapid growth over the past 5-10 years. We are continuing to grow and develop our business and with your help we will all succeed. A&F Sprinklers is now an Employee-Owned Business as part of an EOT.
What You'll Be Doing
1. Learn and develop to completion of design of automatic fire sprinkler systems.
2. Learn and develop to ensure designs meet the contract design brief and are in line with company standards and expectations.
3. Learn and develop to identify, update & communicate design issues, i.e. drawing standards, non-conforming issues.
4. Learn and develop knowledge & understanding of LPC/BS EN 12845 Sprinkler rules NFPA and FM Global Datasheets along with associated hydraulic calculations such that the LPCB Basic Design Competence/Inspection Competence qualification can be obtained.
5. Learn and develop how to check designs on site (where appropriate) to verify pipe routes/avoid clashes, etc.
6. Using CAD and various design packages, create a site-specific construction mapped drawing to be used on site.
7. Work as part of the team to commission a project from start to finish.
This role requires the successful candidate to attend Rochdale Training Association for their apprenticeship and further development. We create and develop personal development plans and pathways to develop you into a Fire Sprinkler Design Engineer.
