MSSU is a 31 bed medical short stay Unit within Urgent care. This is an exciting, fast paced and challenging Unit to work on, with a fantastic multi-disciplinary team. We receive our patients from MAU and the Emergency department when they are in need of a short stay in hospital.
A necessity for this role is to have a broad general medicine base and a flexible ability to work. The ideal candidate will have some knowledge in supporting a team and experience with coordinating a busy ward area. The candidate for this position would be highly motivated and have a genuine desire to help people in every way they can and also provide the best health care across the board.
Our service is continually expanding and developing, and we will offer you training and education to enable you to gain specialist skills to develop within your career. You will be fully supported by the ward to ensure you get the most positive experience.
To provide clinical expertise to the Team and develop practice. To work in close liaison with the Ward Manager, and other Deputy Sister/Deputy Charge Nurses, Matrons, Practice Development Team (PDT) and the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) to provide the highest quality of assessment and evaluated care required to support each patient in their care pathway and improve the patient experience. To act as a clinical nurse leader, taking responsibility for the professional development of yourself and a group of nurses.
