The Role Becoming an apprentice at Axis Europe is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience and training. You will work alongside experienced colleagues, whilst learning on the job. You will be expected to attend school/college once a week as part of your apprenticeship. Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship, you could be offered a permanent position. Responsibilities Working alongside an experienced and qualified Quantity Surveyor to: Develop a clear understanding of Commercial Controls on Contracts. Gain an understanding of the Schedule of Rate codes and how these are applied to work orders. Assist in reviewing variations submitted by sub-contractors to Axis for further works ensuring where necessary variations are approved by the client. Assist in the submission of Applications for Payment. Gain an understanding of the application of contra charges and cost transfers as well as assist in ensuring they are applied where appropriate. Requirements: Educated to GCSE standard (English and Maths grade 4 or above) or equivalent. Ability to communicate messages clearly and accurately on the telephone and in person. Experience of Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel. Attention to detail.
