The successful candidate(s) will work in a small team using a shared inbox to provide comprehensive legal support to Paralegals and Solicitors. You are expected to communicate openly with your coworkers and collaborate as an integral part of the team to achieve/exceed common corporate goals.
The company works in an extremely fast-paced, high-pressure atmosphere; as such, it is critical that the successful applicant is able to prioritise tasks and stay on top of answering emails throughout the day.
Typical daily duties include:
* Answering calls, taking new inquiry details from potential clients quickly and accurately, and transferring to case handlers to provide complex legal advice;
* Obtaining and combining dates of availability for trial Counsel and Experts daily;
* Resulting cases in court on the same day;
* Opening client files after receiving instructions;
* Daily booking of Counsel and Experts to attend all court hearings;
* Obtaining daily responses from courts, prosecution, police, GP surgeries, hospitals, clients, witnesses, and so on;
* Chasing & taking payments from clients, raising invoices;
* Drafting correspondence and documents daily to assist the case handlers;
* Contacting the court daily to confirm listing details for all hearings in court the next working day, then confirming listing details to all parties required to attend;
* Collating and sending briefs to counsel and/or chambers for all court hearings;
* Collating case law cited in skeleton arguments/applications and producing corresponding index of enclosures;
* Preparing claims to recover costs from the court for clients at the end of successful cases.
The role would suit somebody who has an optimistic mindset, is enthusiastic, passionate, and motivated by helping others, and values working with a team rather than independently.
Minimum Requirements:
* Previous administrative experience is required (legal is preferred).
* Experience using Proclaim or an equivalent case management system.
* Strong IT skills, including use of Outlook, Word, and Excel.
* Excellent communication abilities, including telephone customer service.

* Strong organisational skills - experience replying and dealing with all emails/instructions on the same day.
The company is committed to training and development and has a dedicated Training Officer who executes interactive training strategies from the start. In addition to face-to-face training and feedback sessions, the company hosts frequent team and firm meetings where new procedures are reviewed among colleagues with varying levels of experience, ensuring that no member of the team is ever without support. You will also be assigned a 'buddy' to assist you with any questions you may have regarding training.
