We are working with a growing corporation that is going through an exciting period of change! My client is looking to recruit a Service Charge Specialist who can take ownership of a consolidation project and support with a system implementation over an 18-month contract. This role comes with a competitive salary and a market-leading holiday allowance (up to 33 days plus bank holidays!).
What will the Service Charge Specialist role involve:
1. Manage and administer the accurate calculation, setting and issue of all service charges.
2. Document and review current service charge and rent processes working closely with the project lead to identify efficiencies.
3. Apportion costs correctly to individual customers in accordance with lease and tenancy agreements.
4. Review, monitor and control actual spend against budget.
5. Reconcile charges back to property records, ensuring that all data sent externally matches internal records.
6. Lead on rent setting, ensuring compliance with legislation, regulation, policy and best practice.
7. Maintain information relating to sinking fund accounts including posting entries and reconciling bank accounts.
8. Monitor utility costs, recording the usage and complete trend analysis to ensure accurate service charging is maintained.
9. Review service charges for blocks where an external management company is in place, ensuring the relevant charges are passed onto residents.
Suitable candidate for the Service Charge Specialist vacancy:
1. Experience working within Service Charge is essential due to the nature of this role and need for ownership with an upcoming project.
2. Strong Excel skills are essential including pivot tables and advanced formulas.
