Your new role
As the Finance Officer, you will support with provision of financial support and information. You will ensure all financial management is sound and procedures are adhered to with relevant reports submitted to the central finance department in accordance with deadlines.
1. Manage the processing of orders, invoices and payment for goods and services.
2. Ensure purchase order and/or invoice related queries are dealt with speedily and effectively and are appropriate.
3. Check financial transactions to ensure that correct procedures are adhered to.
4. Assist in ensuring effective procurement practice and ensuring best value principles are met.
5. Obtain quotes for goods and services where necessary and in line with the Trust tender process where applicable.
6. Regularly review service level agreements (SLAs) and contracts to ensure the best value and value for money.
7. Ensure all orders are delivered on the agreed timescales, deliveries match with the orders placed and any discrepancies are queried by the supplier in a timely fashion.
8. Maintain the asset register in accordance with the financial procedures.
9. Maintain appropriate filing systems to fulfil audit requirements.
10. Daily running of the Petty Cash account, issuing cheques and handling cash
11. Ensure procedures are followed in collecting, receipting and banking all monies received.
12. Raise sales invoices, in particular for lettings and receipt payments.
13. Responsible for banking of funds received.
14. Process cashbook payments and receipts on to the financial system.
15. Produce monthly management accounts including bank, purchase ledger and sales ledger reconciliations.
16. Produce a monthly variance analysis of actuals to budget.
17. Develop 5-year forecasts in conjunction with the central finance team.
18. Ensure all staff in the organisation adhere to financial regulations.
What you'll need to succeed
19. GCSE Grade A*-C or equivalent in both English and Maths
20. Ideally, AAT qualified, or working towards (Study support offered)
21. Experience of using accounts and budgetary software
22. Experience of using Excel/Word
23. Experience working in a busy finance department
24. Experience of cash handling
25. Ability to form and maintain appropriate and effective relationships with other members of staff
26. Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
27. Ability tomunicate effectively with all stakeholders
