Full Time / 37 Hours / Permanent
We have two full time, permanent posts working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. You’ll be expected to have the flexibility to work between the hours of 07:00-21:00 depending on the needs of the service and may need to work occasional evenings and weekends. Based between City and Town Hall.
Appointment to a level within this post will depend on the outcome of the selection process and experience of the successful candidate. This post is career graded (LG Band 3 – LG Band 4). Progress can occur if vacancies arise at the higher grade, depending on availability of a vacancy at the higher level. There is no automatic progression.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Maintaining the security and safety of City Hall and occupants, supporting evacuation procedures when required.
2. Providing exemplary, face-to-face, telephone and email customer service in a high-profile environment.
3. Working with colleagues, members of the public, contractors, external companies, health and safety and public sector bodies to ensure a welcoming, professional and safe environment.
4. Efficiently operating meeting room AV equipment, a range of IT systems, and relevant computer system databases including content management systems, ensuring that all information entered and retrieved is up to date.
5. Managing room bookings using information in the booking system and assisting with rooms and facilities being set up appropriately.
What you’ll need:
1. Good literacy and numeracy skills to undertake accurate processing of documentation and maintenance of records.
2. Confidence to communicate effectively with people at all levels using interpersonal skills.
3. Flexibility and adaptability with the ability to think on your feet and respond to emergency situations.
4. Enthusiasm and motivation, with a passion for creating a positive working environment.
