Monarch Education is working closely with a school in Birmingham. This is a full-time role (Mon-Fri) from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, term time only. However, the school may accept part-time hours for the right candidate. We are looking for somebody with experience working as a Support Worker, or perhaps in a care setting previously. The school will also accept those with less experience but with an education-related degree.
The Role
As a Support Worker, you will be required to work with primary age pupils providing support academically, socially, and emotionally throughout the school day. The pupils have a variety of complex needs, and some will require physical and personal support. You will be required to work on a 1:1 basis with some pupils and in small groups with others. You may be required to work outside and attend school trips with pupils.

* Have experience working with children or young adults with SEMH needs
* Confident in building positive relationships with both children and staff
* Is professional, calm, and understanding with a nurturing manner
* Will have experience using different behaviour management strategies
* Is positive, a forward thinker, and able to work well within a team
