Role Description LVGI have a new opportunity for a Senior Business Analyst covering our offices in Bournemouth. Please note we are looking to hire one permanent Senior Business Analyst and one on a 12 month fixed term contract, this will be discussed at interview and offer stage. Working in an agile environment, you will be bringing energy to our strategies on key change for the business. This is a dynamic and fast-moving place to work, and with so many moving parts, you will need to be engaging, persuasive and the glue that holds different teams together. A hands-on approach is needed as in this role you will be the bridge between the business functions and technical teams, working with stakeholders to ensure we achieve the LV vision to be the Best Loved. Main Duties To provide Business Intelligence business analysis expertise across all projects / Epics, taking responsibility for translating business requirements into tangible BI deliverables across both ‘on premise’ and cloud environments Support and manage the development, implementation and user adoption of reporting solutions About you You’re a Business Analyst who is looking to make a difference and exact real change who is used to taking a loose brief and shaping this into what’s required for the Business. You’ll want a role where you can work collaboratively, but with a lot of autonomy too – supported by others in your team but trusted to do your job well and be given the flexibility to manage your time to get the job done. As an analyst with industry experience, you will be building your track record of taking strategic vision through to realisation. You’re naturally curious, insightful and get to the bottom of problems that your stakeholders haven’t even thought of yet Your ability to communicate and collaborate with others will be one of the most important skillset you have for this position: understanding and translating for colleagues with very different specialisms associated within their fields; from stakeholders with operational and strategic sway, to the more technical IT and Development teams. Experience in the General Insurance, Business Intelligence and Data would be very beneficial. Any previous agile experience would also be a benefit but is not essential – an open, collaborative mind-set is what we need from you. You’ll be attached the Bournemouth office; sometimes working remotely but regularly coming into the office to collaborate with others. Essential Skills A Business Intelligence background within a General Insurance environment Substantial experience of BI requirements specifications in relation to both a) back end source-to-target data extracts and b) front end dashboards, query and analysis tools An appreciation of Data Management disciplines Ability to support & validate deliverables from Testing and Architecture teams Ability to work with Users at all levels of the organisation up to and including Board level. Ability to modulate communication accordingly with Business stakeholders and the technical teams Ability to act as a business advocate with effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to question the status quo and resolve areas of disagreements Desirable Skills Experience of Azure (preferred) or other cloud based infrastructures Familiarity with SQL scripting An understanding of Dimensional Data modelling An awareness of Microsoft BI Tools Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) Experience of Agile and / or Scaled Agile framework Appreciation of the GDPR principles (experience in setting up processes with respect to GDPR will be highly valuable) Experience of Policy Administration & Billing systems (for eg: Guidewire, etc.) What we can offer you Recognised and rewarded for a job well done, we have a range of flexible benefits for you to choose from- so you can pick a package that’s perfect for you.
