The company has over 35 years' experience in providing advanced test systems and facilities to the automotive industry. Our range includes e-motor, IC engine, power train, vehicle, and component testing.
We design, develop, and manufacture our own products and support them globally with locations in UK, USA, China, India, and Malaysia. Our customers include Tier 1 Vehicle Manufacturers, Formula One Teams, University and Research Organisations, Marine builders and Heavy Plant Manufacturers. There are a wide variety of applications with a recent focus on electrification and hydrogen.
Overview
We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and be proficient in operating various machining tools and equipment. This role is vital in ensuring precision and quality in the manufacturing process, contributing to the overall success of our operations.
Duties
Operate and maintain milling machines, lathes, and other machining equipment.
Assemble components and perform grinding tasks to achieve precise specifications.
Producing accurate bespoke parts for engine and vehicle test equipment, using XYZ, Colchester centre lathe, Bridgeport milling machine.
Interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Following the delivery plan as per business requirements.
Apply basic maths skills to perform measurements and calculations accurately.
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality output.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Running Turning or/and Milling machines when required for ongoing jobs.
Working on small batches of high-quality parts with a focus on right production.
Identifying opportunities to improve productivity and increase output within the company.
Work on world-class, Engine and vehicle test equipment.
Installing and aligning AC Motors and dynos.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Machinist or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues.
Familiarity with tooling techniques and processes relevant to machining operations.
Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Qualifications:
City & Guilds Level 2, BTEC ONC or Modern Apprenticeship Certificate, NVQ Level 2, 3, Key Skills Level 2, and City & Guilds Level 2/BTEC ONC in a recognised engineering field.
