Position
An opportunity has arisen for a Perioperative Care Co-ordinator at University Hospital Crosshouse & University Hospital Ayr.
What you will do:
1. We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible perioperative care co-ordinator to provide multi-factorial clinical screening of patients waiting for surgery.
2. You will perform face to face and remote Active Clinical Surveillance across tri-Prehabilitation domains of lifestyle, nutrition and psychology.
3. You will signpost patients to the relevant services to support this process.
4. You will maintain contact with patients every 3 months while they wait for surgery.
5. You will triage patients into low risk or expedited pre-operative assessment groups.
Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
1. Diploma in healthcare or equivalent SVQ III in Social or health Care subject.
2. Previous health/social care experience is essential.
3. Willing to be flexible in respect of work base location and travel across Ayrshire & Arran area.
4. Ability to work under pressure.
5. Understanding of how to deliver key health promotion messages (including alcohol, smoking cessation, healthy eating and physical activity) as part of their role.
Hours:
1. Post 1. 22 hours 5 out of 7 days.
2. Post 2. 15 hours 5 out of 7 days.
UK Driving Licence/Car Ownership:
UK driving licence/Car ownership is essential to this role.
