A great opportunity has arisen for a full time Band 3 Support Time and Recovery Worker to join our team in the Acute Therapy Service (ATS) based at The Gateway in Blackpool. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and reliable worker to support us to continue delivering a psychologically led service that provides an alternative to inpatient admissions and also facilitates early discharge from the inpatient units.
The aim of the ATS service is to provide brief structured psychological input, practical, occupational and social support and respite in a safe and containing environment.
The successful post holder will have experience of working in Mental Health Services and the duties will include:
Direct involvement with service users; you will help to provide and facilitate a therapeutic responsive service for adults with mental health difficulties. This will involve supporting service users to implement coping strategies learned in the ATS service. You will also deliver and co-facilitate groups.
You will receive regular management and clinical supervision, with opportunities to develop clinical and professional practice in line with service user needs and the organisations values.

• To assist in the provision of a DBT led therapeutic environment that facilitates early discharge from an acute psychiatric ward or provides an alternative to hospital admission;
• The post holder is expected to contribute to and support the day to day operational functioning of the service by working between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday;
• The post holder will have the opportunity to work creatively within the team to meet the demands & needs of the service & service users.
• The post holder will work without direct supervision on completion of his/her initial induction program;
• Support to carry out this role will be provided by management, clinical and staff team.
• To facilitate and maintain effective liaison with statutory and non-statutory agencies in the community, and other appropriate agencies involved in the service users care.
• Maintain effective communication both within and outside of the clinical team to ensure that service user needs are met;
• To communicate with service users to maximise their involvement and understanding of their condition, care and treatment, which may involve providing information and using skills to overcome barriers in an empathic and reassuring manner;
• To participate in both clinical and managerial supervision;
• Provide both verbal and written feedback to colleagues regarding service user’s presentation.

Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
