IT & Infrastructure Manager (Head Office & Global Sporting Events) (Full Time)

Description
The IT & Infrastructure Manager is responsible for ensuring that iLUKA’s IT systems, networks, and infrastructure operate efficiently and securely. This role involves leading IT strategy, managing IT projects, overseeing IT security, and providing technical support to staff and event teams, ensuring seamless operations across both day-to-day activities and major event delivery.
This is a hybrid role, with 1 to 2 days per week in the office. The position also requires travel to event locations in advance for planning and setup, as well as being on-site for the entire duration of the event to oversee IT operations and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Day-to-Day Duties:
1. Oversee and manage the day-to-day IT helpdesk, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues and excellent support for all iLUKA staff.
2. Manage and configure endpoint management solutions such as Microsoft Intune, ensuring secure and compliant device management.
3. Implement and oversee multi-factor authentication (MFA) and single sign-on (SSO) solutions, enhancing security.
4. Oversee antivirus and endpoint protection, including tools like Microsoft Defender ATP, ensuring protection against threats.
5. Monitor and maintain IT systems, ensuring security, efficiency, and minimal downtime.
6. Ensure VPN connectivity and remote access management for secure operations across multiple locations.
7. Lead IT projects, including system upgrades, software deployments, automation initiatives, and cloud integrations.
8. Develop and execute backup and disaster recovery strategies, including regular testing.
9. Manage classified and unclassified IT environments, ensuring secure access and data integrity.
10. Administer and manage the Microsoft 365 environment, including SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Exchange.
11. Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to strengthen IT security.
12. Ensure compliance with GDPR regulations, particularly regarding data handling and storage.
13. Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with business objectives.
14. Plan and manage IT budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions and tracking expenditure in line with project and business requirements.
15. Maintain and manage the iLUKA IT asset register, ensuring accurate tracking of all hardware and software assets.
16. Oversee the issuance, collection, and management of IT acceptance sheets to document assigned equipment.
17. Ensure the security of IT infrastructure and office premises, including access controls, surveillance, and compliance with security policies.
18. Provide technical support to iLUKA staff and, when required, assist clients and contractors.
19. Support ISO compliance and lead IT-related ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials projects.
20. Work independently during non-event periods, managing IT operations, projects, and support without direct supervision.
21. Willingness to assist in other areas of the business during peak times, demonstrating a flexible and solutions-focused approach.
Event-Based Duties:
1. Project manage IT and infrastructure requirements for venue builds, ensuring seamless integration with event operations.
2. Oversee the setup and management of IT infrastructure in iLUKA’s satellite offices for event-time delivery.
3. Develop and manage project timelines for IT and infrastructure setup, ensuring deadlines are met.
4. Lead and manage a team of locally based IT Managers/Coordinators in the host city/nation, ensuring smooth IT operations.
5. Ensure event-specific IT systems run efficiently, implementing security measures to protect data.
6. Manage IT equipment and communication systems suppliers for events.
7. Manage the distribution, collection, and tracking of IT equipment, radios, and event mobile phones at the start and end of events, ensuring all assets are properly accounted for and logged in the asset register.
8. Organise and manage event-time radios and communication systems, ensuring seamless communication across teams.
9. Coordinate testing for security and disaster recovery during events.
10. Prepare IT requirements documentation, including rate cards, operations manual and white papers.
11. Oversee reconciliation of IT accounts post-event.
12. Advise on operational space requirements, balancing business needs and cost control.
This is not an exhaustive list, and all team members will be expected to contribute to any other aspects of the business, as necessary.
Skills, Knowledge, Expertise:
1. Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel, ensuring clear understanding across different teams.
2. Strong understanding of IT security protocols, including ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials.
3. Microsoft 365 expertise (must-have), including SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Exchange administration.
4. Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) for device management and security compliance.
5. Excellent knowledge of Windows environments, including Active Directory, Exchange, Microsoft Teams, and backup solutions.
6. Knowledge of LAN administration in a secure environment, including DHCP, WINS, SNMP, and DNS.
7. Strong understanding of network systems, protocols, and applications, with practical experience in network and server security.
8. Ability to determine, troubleshoot, and coordinate hardware and software solutions effectively.
9. Experience in configuring and managing smart devices, including smartphones and event mobile phones.
10. Experience in installation and maintenance of SQL Server and IIS Servers.
11. Cisco networking experience would be beneficial.
12. Experience working on overseas events, conferences, or setting up temporary satellite offices would be highly advantageous.
13. Experience working on global sporting events is desirable.
14. Cybersecurity expertise, including SIEM solutions and incident response.
15. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS), virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V), and SaaS solutions.
16. Ability to implement and manage multi-factor authentication (MFA) and single sign-on (SSO) solutions.
17. Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python) for automating IT tasks would be beneficial.
18. Excellent documentation skills for audits and compliance.
19. Experience supporting accreditation processes and security audits would be advantageous.
20. Project management skills, with the ability to manage IT timelines, suppliers, and teams across multiple locations.
21. Ability to prioritise a demanding workload, particularly in high-pressure environments.
